One Month. Two Windows. Twenty Percent More Demand.

Ramadan is the single most requested Umrah window in Canada, and the market behaves accordingly. Hotel blocks near the Masjid al-Haram tighten months out. Fares from Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver climb. The last ten nights, when pilgrims seek Laylat al-Qadr, are the scarcest inventory in the entire pilgrimage calendar.

A Ramadan Umrah package from Canada costs $2,041 to $2,247 CAD including return flights, which is a 15 to 20 percent premium over the same itinerary in a shoulder month. That premium is not margin, it is demand. Airlines price it, hotels price it, and anyone telling you otherwise is either quoting a property far from the Haram or has not confirmed the booking yet.

What we control is timing. We commit to inventory early, which is why the pilgrims who enquire in autumn end up closer to the Mataf than the ones who enquire six weeks out at the same price point.

First Half or Last Ten Nights: They Are Different Trips

The first half of Ramadan is calmer. The Haram is full but navigable, Taraweeh is attended without the crush of the final stretch, and both hotel and flight pricing sit at the lower end of the band. For a first-time pilgrim, or for a family travelling with young children or elderly parents, this is usually the better recommendation.

The last ten nights are the reason many pilgrims travel at all. Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Decree, falls somewhere within them, and the Haram fills to a degree that has to be experienced to be understood. Pilgrims pray through the night, Khatam Al Quran gatherings draw enormous crowds, and the return walk to your hotel at two in the morning is a genuine consideration rather than a detail.

If you are travelling for the last ten nights, hotel proximity stops being a comfort question and becomes the structure of your trip. Book early and book close.

Why the Prayer Walk Decides Your Hotel in Ramadan

In any other month, a twenty-minute walk to the Haram is a reasonable trade for a lower price. In Ramadan it is not.

You are fasting. Taraweeh finishes late. Crowds around the Haram in the final ten nights make short distances take considerably longer than a map suggests. Then Suhoor comes a few hours later, and Fajr after it. Over seven nights the cumulative cost of a distant hotel is significant, particularly for anyone over sixty.

This is why we push Clock Tower complex properties such as Swissotel Al Maqam and Fairmont Makkah Clock Royal Tower for Ramadan specifically, even for pilgrims who would happily take a 4-star property in a quieter month. The walk back at midnight is the product.

Suhoor and Iftar arrangements are confirmed with the hotel as part of the booking for the same reason. Finding a meal at 3am in an unfamiliar city while fasting and jet-lagged is an avoidable problem.

Booking Months Ahead Means Trusting Someone With Your Deposit

Ramadan bookings involve paying a deposit six months or more before travel. That is a long time for your money to sit with a company you found online.

As a TICO-registered Ontario travel seller, we operate under the province’s Travel Industry Act, which means your deposit is protected by provincial consumer protection legislation for that entire period. The airfare, hotels, and transfers we contract must be issued exactly as agreed, with no surcharge appearing once the peak window arrives and prices in the market have moved.

That last point matters specifically in Ramadan. An unregistered reseller who under-quoted in October has every incentive to come back in February asking for more money, or to quietly move you to a property further out. A contracted, TICO-supervised booking does not work that way.

How a Canadian Ramadan Departure Is Actually Built

The sequence runs earlier than a normal booking, but is otherwise familiar.

You tell us your departure airport and which window you want. We check confirmed seat availability on Emirates, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Saudia for those dates rather than quoting a fare that may not exist by the time you decide. Ramadan seats out of Canada sell genuinely out, so anything we quote is held rather than pending.

We then propose hotels ranked by practical distance to the Haram, with the Taraweeh walk explicitly considered. Once you choose, dining arrangements are confirmed, the Nusuk eVisa goes in through the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah portal, and the Rawdah permit slot for your Madinah leg is reserved through the Nusuk app.

Transfers are locked: the King Abdulaziz International Airport arrival, the intercity leg, and the return. Then you have a contracted itinerary months before you travel, which is exactly what you want heading into the busiest window of the year.

Cost Guide: What Sits Behind $2,041 to $2,247

Which ten nights. The final stretch commands more than the first half of the month.

Hotel proximity. Clock Tower complex versus a property twenty minutes out is the largest swing inside the band.

Departure city. Fares from Vancouver and Edmonton run above Toronto and Montreal for the same dates.

Occupancy. Quad occupancy underpins the published figure; triple and double supplements are quoted separately.

How early you book. This is the one variable entirely in your control, and in Ramadan it is worth more than any of the others.

If you would rather travel outside the premium window, the all-inclusive tier covers the same standard of hotel at shoulder-season pricing, and a mosque group departure can bring the per-person figure down further.

Why Choose Us

Why Canadian Pilgrims Choose Us for Ramadan Umrah

Inventory held early

We commit to Ramadan blocks well ahead of the window rather than scrambling for leftovers in the final weeks.

Confirmed seats, not waitlists

Ramadan fares from Canadian airports spike and sell out. Seats on our packages are confirmed rather than pending.

The prayer walk comes first

During Taraweeh and the last ten nights, hotel proximity is the whole experience. That is our first filter, ahead of amenities.

Fasting logistics handled

Suhoor and Iftar arrangements are confirmed with the hotel so you are not hunting for food at 3am in an unfamiliar city.

Honest about the premium

Ramadan costs 15 to 20 percent more. We say so on the page rather than hiding it in a quote you only see after handing over details.

TICO registered

Deposits paid months ahead of a peak window are exactly the case where Ontario's Travel Industry Act protection matters most.

How It Works

How Ramadan Umrah Works, Step by Step

  1. 1

    Book early, before inventory tightens

Ramadan hotel blocks and confirmed seats move months ahead. The earlier the enquiry, the better the proximity you get for the same money.

  2. 2

    Choose your window

First half of the month, or the last ten nights including Laylat al-Qadr. The two have different pricing, different demand, and a different feel.

  3. 3

Hotel chosen for the prayer walk

Taraweeh runs late and the crowds are enormous. We select for the shortest practical route to the Haram rather than the best room photo.

  4. 4

    Suhoor and Iftar arranged

Fasting on a long-haul schedule needs planning. Dining arrangements are confirmed with the hotel as part of the booking.

  5. 5

    Visa, permits, and departure

Nusuk eVisa filed, Rawdah permit slot reserved, transfers locked, and your Canadian departure confirmed with seats already held.

Ramadan Umrah Questions, Answered

When is Ramadan and when should I book my Ramadan Umrah package?

Ramadan moves roughly eleven days earlier each Gregorian year because it follows the lunar calendar. Book several months ahead. Haram-front rooms and confirmed seats from Canadian airports for the last ten nights are the first inventory to disappear, and late bookings pay more for a worse location.

How much more expensive are Ramadan Umrah packages than off-peak travel?

Ramadan carries a 15 to 20 percent premium over the same itinerary in a shoulder month, landing at $2,041 to $2,247 CAD including return flights. The premium reflects airline demand out of Canada, hotel demand in Makkah, and the scarcity of Haram-front rooms during the final ten nights.

What are the best Makkah hotels for Ramadan near the Masjid al-Haram?

The Clock Tower complex properties, including Swissotel Al Maqam and Fairmont Makkah Clock Royal Tower, are the strongest choice in Ramadan because Taraweeh ends late and crowds are dense. A short indoor walk back to your room at midnight is worth considerably more in Ramadan than in any other month.

What is Laylat al-Qadr and which package tier is best for the last ten nights?

Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Decree, falls within the final ten nights of Ramadan and is sought by pilgrims above any other night of the year. For that window we recommend the closest available Haram-front property, because you may be praying through the night and the return walk matters enormously.

Are Suhoor and Iftar included in a Ramadan package?

Dining arrangements are confirmed with the hotel as part of the booking, and your written quote names exactly what is covered. Fasting while adjusting to a new time zone is difficult enough without needing to find a meal at 3am in an unfamiliar area.

Is Ramadan Umrah suitable for a first-time pilgrim?

It can be extraordinary, and it is also the most crowded time of year at the Haram. First-timers travelling with young children or elderly parents should weigh that carefully. If crowd density is a concern, the first half of Ramadan is noticeably easier than the last ten nights.

Can a mosque group book a Ramadan departure together?

Yes, and it is worth starting very early. Group airfare locks for Ramadan need to be made well ahead, and rooming blocks need to be held before the window tightens. See our group Umrah page for how we structure departures of 10 to 30 pilgrims.

Do Ramadan packages include flights from Canada?

Yes. The $2,041 to $2,247 CAD band includes return airfare from a Canadian airport, which is a significant part of why the Ramadan figure sits above a land-only package. Seats are confirmed at booking rather than held pending.

What happens if Ramadan dates shift after I book?

Ramadan start dates depend on moon sighting, so a one-day shift is always possible. We build itineraries with that in mind and confirm how your specific booking handles it in writing, rather than leaving you to discover a mismatch after paying.
