PR Card Holders Welcome

# Umrah Visa Canada: Nusuk eVisa Guidance for Canadian Citizens and PR Card Holders

Umrah Packages Canada

[/ →](/)

handles Saudi Nusuk eVisa filing for Canadian citizens and permanent residents through the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah portal. The application runs through the Nusuk platform with biometric self-enrolment on the Saudi Visa Bio app, and covers eVisa validity, single and multiple entries, the full document checklist, meningococcal ACWY vaccination guidance, and Rawdah permit booking for the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah through the Nusuk app. Canadian PR card holders are fully eligible on their home-country passport and PR card; a Canadian passport is not required.

Our team verifies your IRCC status and PR card validity before the application is submitted, confirms the eVisa in writing before any deposit is charged, and the eVisa fee appears as its own line on the itemised Canadian-dollar quote. Every deposit sits under TICO Ontario protection. Chosen by PR card holders whom other Canadian operators refuse to file for, first-time pilgrims from Toronto (YYZ), Mississauga, Brampton, Montreal (YUL), Calgary (YYC), Edmonton (YEG), Ottawa (YOW), Vancouver (YVR), and Hamilton, and families booking Ramadan peak-season or December school-break departures.

Filed for pilgrims flying Emirates, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Saudia, or Air Canada into King Abdulaziz International (JED) or Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz (MED) with Haramain High-Speed Railway between the two Holy Cities.

## Three Documents. One Portal. Zero Guesswork.

The Umrah visa is the part of the trip that stops people from booking. Not the cost, not the flights, the visa. Canadian pilgrims hear conflicting things from family, from forums, and from agencies that would rather take a deposit than answer the question. So here is the plain version.

Saudi Arabia issues Umrah entry through the Nusuk platform, operated by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Most Canadian pilgrims travel on the tourist eVisa, commonly issued as a 1-year multiple-entry visa allowing stays of up to 90 days per entry, which covers Umrah rites. A separate single-entry Umrah visa also exists for certain cases. You need a valid travel document, a photo meeting Saudi specification, and the recommended meningococcal ACWY vaccination certificate. Biometric self-enrolment through the Saudi Visa Bio app may be requested.

Our team files the application, tracks it, and puts the fee on your quote as a separate line. Visa assistance is included with every package tier, from the $750 CAD economy land-only through to Platinum.

## Canadian PR Card Holders Are Eligible, and Nobody Says So

Roughly 800,000 people in Canada hold a permanent-resident card. A large share of them are Muslim, and a large share of those have delayed Umrah because they were told, or assumed, that they need a Canadian passport first.

They do not. A valid Canadian PR card together with your home-country passport puts you on the same eVisa route as a Canadian citizen. You do not need to wait for citizenship, and you do not need to travel through a third country to file.

We confirm your eligibility in writing before a deposit is requested. Our team reviews your PR card validity, your IRCC status, and your passport expiry against current Saudi requirements, and tells you plainly whether the application will go through. If something in your file needs fixing first, you hear it at that point rather than after you have paid for flights.

This is the clearest gap in the Canadian Umrah market. Competitors publish general visa pages that quietly assume a Canadian passport. If you are a permanent resident in Mississauga, Brampton, or Cote-des-Neiges, that assumption costs you a trip you were eligible for the whole time.

## How the Nusuk eVisa System Works for Canadian Passport and PR Card Holders

**Step one, document verification.** Before anything is submitted we check three things: travel document validity against your return date, PR card status if applicable, and whether your photo meets Saudi specification. Photo rejections are the most common cause of delay, and they are entirely avoidable.

**Step two, the Nusuk application.** The filing goes through the official Saudi platform. Personal details, travel dates, and accommodation are submitted together, which is one reason we prefer to have your hotel block confirmed before the visa goes in rather than after.

**Step three, biometric self-enrolment.** Where biometrics are requested, enrolment is done through the Saudi Visa Bio app on your own phone. No consulate appointment, no travelling to another city.

**Step four, health documentation.** The meningococcal ACWY vaccination certificate is strongly recommended and should be obtained at least ten days before travel. Saudi Arabia softened the strict entry mandate for tourist eVisa holders in 2024, but Canadian and Saudi health authorities continue to advise it. Canadian pilgrims get it at a pharmacy or travel clinic. We check the date against your departure so this never becomes a last-week emergency.

**Step five, the Rawdah permit.** The Rawdah, also called Riyadh ul-Jannah, is the area between the Prophet’s pulpit and his chamber inside the Prophet’s Mosque. Entry requires a timed permit booked through the Nusuk app. It is separate from the visa, and we set it up before you leave Canada rather than leaving you to fight the app from a hotel lobby in Madinah.

## What the eVisa Actually Lets You Do

The multiple-entry tourist eVisa is more generous than most first-time applicants expect. Within its validity you can enter Saudi Arabia more than once, and each stay can run up to 90 days. For a pilgrim who intends to return within the year, perhaps for Ramadan after a first Umrah in autumn, that matters financially.

It also permits travel beyond the holy cities, which is why some Canadian pilgrims extend a trip to include Jeddah’s old town or a few days elsewhere in the Kingdom. We do not bundle that into the package, but the visa does not stand in the way of it.

What the eVisa does not do is replace the permits that sit inside the Nusuk app, including Rawdah appointments and certain seasonal Umrah booking slots. Those are separate and time-limited, which is the practical reason to have an operator holding both ends.

| What you need | Nusuk eVisa covers it | Separate Nusuk permit required |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Entry to Saudi Arabia, up to 90 days per stay | Yes, multiple entry within validity | No |
| Performing Umrah at Masjid al-Haram | Yes, during most of the year | Seasonal slots in peak Ramadan |
| Rawdah visit at Masjid an-Nabawi | No | Yes, timed appointment in the app |
| Travel outside Makkah and Madinah | Yes, the tourist eVisa permits it | No |
| Hajj in the prescribed days | No, Hajj uses its own visa | Yes, a separate Hajj permit entirely |

The right-hand column is where most first-time Canadian pilgrims are caught out. Holding a valid eVisa and assuming the Rawdah is included is the single most common misunderstanding we correct. It matters most on a

Ramadan departure

[/ramadan-umrah-packages/ →](/ramadan-umrah-packages/)

, where the seasonal booking slots close early and the permit windows are the tightest of the year.

## What Delays Applications, and How We Avoid It

Almost every delay we see traces back to one of four things: a photo that fails specification, a passport too close to expiry, a vaccination certificate obtained too late, or an application filed a week before departure with no margin.

Our answer to all four is the same. File early. We submit weeks ahead of your flights as standard, which means a rejected photo costs you a day rather than a trip. If the Saudi portal asks for additional clarity, our team responds directly and your hotel block stays held by the same people managing the file.

Throughout that window, your deposit is protected under Ontario’s Travel Industry Act because we are TICO registered. That protection is not contingent on the visa being issued. It applies from the moment you pay, which is the opposite of what happens with an unregistered reseller holding your money on a spreadsheet.

## Bringing the Visa and the Package Together

The visa is not a standalone product here. It sits inside whichever tier you choose, whether that is an

economy land-only package

[/economy-umrah-packages/ →](/economy-umrah-packages/)

 at $750 CAD or an

all-inclusive itinerary

[/all-inclusive-umrah-packages/ →](/all-inclusive-umrah-packages/)

from $2,195 CAD with return flights. Group travellers on a

mosque departure

[/group-umrah-packages/ →](/group-umrah-packages/)

each get their own application filed individually rather than as a batch, so nobody is left behind when the group boards.

If you want the visa question settled before you think about hotels, say so in your quote request. We will answer that part first, in writing, within four business hours.

Why Choose Us

## Why Canadian Pilgrims Choose Us for Umrah Visa

### The PR card gap, covered

Roughly 800,000 people hold Canadian permanent-resident cards, and almost no Canadian Umrah operator addresses them clearly. We do, in writing, before you pay.

### Filed early by default

We submit weeks ahead of your flights, which leaves room for a re-submission or a document correction if the Saudi portal asks for more clarity.

### Fee shown separately

The eVisa fee is its own line on your quote. You can see exactly what the government charge is rather than guessing what is buried in a package price.

### Rawdah permits handled

The Rawdah timeslot inside the Prophet's Mosque is one of the most sought-after bookings in Madinah. We set it up before you leave Canada.

### TICO protection while you wait

Your deposit stays protected under Ontario law during the entire application window, not just once the visa is issued.

### One team, start to finish

The same Travel Specialists who handle the visa also hold your hotel block, so a visa delay never leaves your accommodation unmanaged.

## What Pilgrims Say About Our Umrah Visa

Reflections from Canadian pilgrims we have coordinated travel for.

> As permanent residents on a PR card we had been told for years the Saudi eVisa was not available to us. The team confirmed our Nusuk eligibility in writing before we paid anything.

Hafsa M. Mill Woods, Edmonton, AB

> The Rawdah permit reservation through the Nusuk app was set up before we flew, so we entered the Prophets Mosque with the timeslot already in the wallet on our phone.

Kamran D. Villeray, Montreal, QC

> The recommended meningococcal ACWY vaccination was booked at our local Calgary pharmacy ten days ahead on their reminder, and the Saudi Visa Bio app enrolment was done at home without a consulate visit.

## Umrah Visa Questions, Answered

### How do Canadian citizens apply for an Umrah visa?

Canadian citizens apply online through Nusuk, the official Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah platform, usually for the tourist eVisa that covers Umrah rites. You submit passport details and a compliant photo, complete biometric self-enrolment where requested, and hold the recommended meningococcal ACWY vaccination certificate. Our team files on your behalf and tracks the application through to issuance.

### Can Canadian permanent residents do Umrah without a Canadian passport?

Yes. A valid Canadian PR card together with your home-country passport is sufficient for the Saudi eVisa route used for Umrah. A Canadian passport is not required. This is the single most common question we get from Toronto, Mississauga, and Brampton, and we confirm eligibility in writing before you pay a deposit.

### How long does the Saudi Umrah eVisa last and how many entries does it allow?

The Saudi tourist eVisa used for Umrah is typically issued as a 1-year multiple-entry visa permitting stays of up to 90 days per entry. A separate single-entry Umrah visa also exists. Our team advises which route fits your itinerary and your documents.

### What documents do I need for an Umrah visa application from Canada?

A valid passport, or a valid PR card plus your home-country passport, a passport-style photo meeting Saudi specifications, and the recommended meningococcal ACWY vaccination certificate. Biometric enrolment may be requested. We confirm the exact checklist against current Saudi requirements before filing.

### Is a meningitis vaccination still needed for Canadian Umrah pilgrims?

It is strongly recommended and traditionally treated as mandatory. Saudi Arabia softened the strict entry mandate for tourist eVisa holders in 2024, but Canadian and Saudi health authorities continue to recommend the meningococcal ACWY vaccination, obtained at least ten days before travel, for Umrah and Hajj pilgrims. Canadian pilgrims get it from a pharmacy or travel clinic. We check the timing against your departure date so it is never the thing that holds you up.

### How far in advance should I apply for the Umrah eVisa?

We file several weeks ahead of departure as standard practice. The application is usually quick, but filing early leaves room to correct a photo that fails specification or to respond if the portal asks for an additional document, without putting your flights at risk.

### What is the Rawdah permit and do I need one?

The Rawdah is the area between the Prophet's pulpit and his chamber in the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, also called Riyadh ul-Jannah. Visiting it requires a timed permit booked through the Nusuk app. It is not part of the visa, but it is part of what we set up for you before departure.

### Is the visa fee included in the package price?

Visa assistance is included with every package tier, and the government eVisa fee itself is listed as its own line on your written quote rather than folded into a round number. That way you can see the actual cost.

### What happens if my visa application faces administrative delays?

Because we file weeks ahead, most issues can be resolved without touching your travel dates. If the Saudi portal requests clarification we respond directly, and your deposit remains protected under Ontario's Travel Industry Act throughout. Your hotel block is held by the same team handling the application.

### Do children and infants need their own Umrah visa?

Yes, each traveller needs their own visa record including children, and each needs a compliant photo. Vaccination requirements vary by age, so we confirm what applies to each child on your booking rather than assuming the adult requirements carry across.

### Still have a question?

Send it with your quote request and our Travel Specialists will answer it in writing within four business hours.
